This picture is really great because it really shows the difference that light makes by reflecting off the water creating a contrast between the water and the land.
I agree with that the lighting between the land and the water gives a good contrast. My favorite part of this photo is the different shades of blue that are made visible by the light throughout the water. No two patches of water look the same which gives this the water in this picture a sense of character.
