I think that this was great! Your use of fade vs direct cuts from cue to cue is deliberate and I think adds a nice contrast to your piece. Your use of backlight is very effective and makes me think of stars when ever the song mentioned stars. I also liked your use of color because even though your song is slow it isn't really sad and the brighter colors really call attention to that.
Your first cue is so simple, yet I think you nailed it. It is soft and makes me feel like the song is unfolding. I agree with Casey that your colors lift up this otherwise slow song, avoiding any feelings of sadness. I also enjoyed the light you added at 2:18 that brightened the whole scene when she said "bright". I thought it meshed well with the swelling of the song.
