Lighting in Nature (Briahn Hawkins)

I am a huge fan of silhouettes, so having the natural light make out the silhouette of the moose is beautiful to me. The color of the lighting also gives off an "early morning" mood.

The trees cover the majority of the sunlight except for the area at the end of the road shown. Because of that, the given sunlight provides a theme of "light at the end of the tunnel."

  1. I really like the silhouettes in these pictures. Shadow is my absolute favorite part of lighting (which sounds weird once I think about it but you probably know what I mean!) I definitely agree with the whole "light at the end of the tunnel" theme you described in the second photo.

  2. I really like the second picture because of visible rays of light being cast by the trees. Although much of the foreground is dark, through the use of light this photo does not really seem scary or eerie, instead, i feel that the light gives this photo a very refreshing and still profile which i really like.

  3. I enjoy the simple color scheme for the first photo. I think it emphasizes the simplicity of the silhouette. At first glance, the photo seemed comprised of black and warm orange tones; however, the more I look at the photo, the more colors appear from the shadows, such as shades of brown.
