  1. The song I chose is "Illusion of Bliss" by Alicia Keys. My goal was to focus on the soul and emotion that Alicia was expressing through the song. I used the pinkish-red gels because I felt like it shows more internal frustration the gels that were fully red. For light #2, I chose to make it an pale blue because I wanted the effect of a single spotlight with the feeling of loneliness.

  2. I think that the lighting and color choice really shows the passion, pain, and anger of the song. The timing of the lights went well with the transitions in the music and the drums. I like near the end when the song got more calm how the white light matched the calmness.

  3. Your timed fade from 0:52-1:01 was a brilliant choice to accompany Alicia Keys' first vocals on the track. The slow fade mimics her slow, soulful entrance. I also really enjoyed your cues from 1:20-1:35. The timed fade to black followed by the timed fade up of the pinkish-red lights made me think that the person transformed from someone they used to be to a more frustrated individual.

  4. The use of red light in your piece is breathtaking. It fits the soul and heartache of the song, and works beautifully to symbolize the sirens later on in the song. Bringing up only back light at the beginning helped draw me in to the subject, who I like that you lit with mostly warm colors. The slow transitions help to digest the narrative of the song, while still keeping the audience engaged. I really liked it!
